Our Programs

Our Programs

Our programs strengthen families by decreasing hardships, improve access to resources in regard to healthcare, mental health, employability, housing and sustenance, and inspire hope, which can impact and decrease strain on families, and promote better environments for children and families to thrive in. Current programs in place are as follows:

Hope Gap

This program provides assistance to residents in Delaware County who fall into financial, substance, healthcare and emotional gaps where current community and state resources are not met or where they do not qualify due to program qualification restrictions. Examples include such things as helping with food only and gas only gift cards to help those struggling with a hardship; helping provide clothing for kids in need; proving a new mattress for a home health patient that needs assistance; helping cover utility bills for someone who’s been out of work due to a sudden medical illness; car seat or crib for a new single mom who can’t afford it; putting a homeless family up for a night or 2 during cold winter nights until Community Services can get them the proper assistance; and anything else that falls into the “GAP” of what current programs can/cannot provide.

It also works to assist those in need of prescriptions or other necessities that are not affordable due to lack of insurance or other unforeseen circumstances. Requests for this program need to be set to us by the providers or assistant program advisors.

Hope Initiative

This program is used to share hope and inspire kindness to those going through difficult situations. We hope the beneficiaries of this program in turn help others as a way to pay it forward. This program has provided “Hope Baskets” to First Responder Depts, Teachers, Nursing Home Staff, Police Dept, etc as a way to let them know they are not forgotten for all they do to make the world a better place. This program was used more during the covid pandemic when these individuals were mentally, physically & emotionally drained from the stress of working in their field with the added complication of the pandemic itself.

First Responder Fund

This program originally started as our “Back the Blue” event, which was an annual community event that prompted police and community partnerships to strengthen neighborhood camaraderie, while raising funds to give back to local law enforcement departments. Since then, the event was revamped to “Family Fun Fest” to raise funds for all of our programs, including this new “First Responder Fund”. This new fund will allow us to assist all emergency responders including the Law Enforcement, Fire Department, First Responders, etc. as requested and funds allow.

Christmas Hope

This program helps families in need provide a brighter Christmas for their children. Open to any child in Delaware County, 18 or younger – no income guidelines. Applicants apply for their children providing 2-3 needs and 2-3 wants for each child (with a per item dollar limit). We then purchase those items to the best of our ability using donations given by the community, both monetary and gifts.
